  • Students arrive for class at 7:00 am at Shawnee Regional High School in Tabernacle, NJ.
  • Students play on the jungle gym during recess at the Woodlyn Elementary School in Ridley Township, PA. The Ridley School District was one of the first in the Philadelphia area to require elementary students to wear uniforms.
  • During a discussion of hydroponics, Joel Martinez, left, listens to teacher Jose Diaz's instructions while Jesse Carrano checks her makeup at Olney High School in Philadelphia, PA.
  • From left, Jesse Catalfano, Brianne Martino, and Tiffany Youse vie to participate in a skit during Spanish class at Mosaica Academy in Bristol, PA.

  • Standing in a hallway of the administration building of the School District of Philadelphia are Malani Sanders and her grandmother Donna Trice. Sanders an 8 year-old was expelled from her school for bringing a small knife to class. She tearfully pleaded to be re-instated at her former school.
